Some traditions are stranger than others. Despite his pained look, The Ambassador really doesn't mind this one.

The Ambassador & The Secretary struggle to lie still for the obligatory photo. So many leaves to toss, so little time.

"More, more, more! We need more leaves!" Thankfully, tree planting is NOT part of The Ambassador's official function.  This is the essence of The Ambassador & The Secretary. One wields a large stick looking for things to whack, the other squats to study the intricacies of a leaf.
